The cities of Plano, Allen, McKinney, and Frisco are all affected by the recently changed propert tax changes in the law. The main changes are as outlined below.

Primary Property Tax law changes for Collin County:

Effective 9-1-11, there are new changes to property tax laws. When filing a homestead exemption, the homeowner must also submit a copy of his\her driver's license and vehicle registration AND the addresses on those 2 must match the address of the home for which they are filing the exemption.
